A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux hosting with us and you wish to activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally only one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain registered in the account. You can choose one email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with several clicks of the mouse if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company. The hosting account will be managed through our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes with any domain name hosted there. To activate the catch-all feature for a mailbox, you’ll need to click on the icon with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Disabling this feature can be accomplished in the exact same manner and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a given domain, you will get a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or disable anything automatically.
